We have been busy out taking location photograph’s in Edensor, near Chatsworth, Derbyshire for Holly Cottage Bed and Breakfast & Edensor Tea Rooms

The shoot – Client requirements

As with any business in the UK and around the globe, websites have now become an integral part of attracting new customers and interest, we were commissioned to travel from our Sheffield photography studio, South Yorkshire to take photos at the quaint holiday B & B in Pilsley, Derbyshire & the near by local tourist attraction, Edensor Tea Rooms. The client, Mark required a variety of professional photographs including some architectural photography of the room interiors at the Derbyshire Bed and Breakfast and also a variety of exterior photos of the countryside cottage.

The bed and breakfast has a small but fresh breakfast room where guests can eat before exploring the local attractions at Chatsworth and many hillside trails and walks, they provide yummy local and homemade delights to fuel guests fun packed day ahead. We photographed the rooms using a professional photography tripod and off camera flash to help demonstrate the light and airy feel to the property, providing our client with the best photography possible.
The guest bedrooms are all individually styled to enhance the character of the property, we photographed general views from various angles and also key features and finishing touches.
A short drive from Holly Cottage is the peaceful village of Edensor, part of the Chatsworth estate where you will find the beautiful Edensor Tea Rooms. A delightful place to stop for great coffee, various teas, cakes and a fantastic hot and cold food menu. We were commissioned to shoot images to enhance a new website, to capture the feel and ambiance of the tea rooms.
Our client required photographs of the food, on the day it was in fact raining, as it often does when we are taking photos out on location, we however used professional photography lighting techniques and took shelter under an outside umbrella to create that sunny day feeling.  The food looks and tastes fantastic as we were lucky enough to be invited to stay for lunch. Since then we have visited the tea room for afternoon tea and would recommend it to anyone, great food, great atmosphere and helpful staff.

I was Introduced to  Formm at the beginning of this year and was task to shoot some head shots for a new web site.Whilst talking to the directors as I shot their portraits they inquired if I would be interested in shooting the projects as and when they were completed.
The time frame is very short between completion and handover so flexibility and communication is key with all parties concerned and Formm have been able to facilitate easy access and help from  Formm's clients.

Product knowledge is paramount as a commercial photographer, you need to make sure the angles you choose show off the key design points to show how the products works and may differ from other similar products on the market. You can also add associated products to help the up sell of the clients range. This can be on a white back ground or in a small  set or on location.

For the past few years here at MC Photography, we've been working extremely hard on a technique that allows us to shoot some beautiful exteriors of some equally beautiful buildings.

Using a combination of lighting, complex retouching and "the golden hour" we have produced some work we are extremely proud of in the past few years. The technique we use to create these images transforms cold, dull shots, into warm, vibrant images that are worthy of the technical and hard work that goes into creating these amazing spaces.

Take a look at some before and after shots!

We've had some extreme weather this year in the UK with the Beast from the East battering us early on in the year, but the summer we usually dont get in the UK has been very kind to us.

With the lovely warm weather it gives us a great chance to get out into the sun and shoot!
