New Beginnings

In August 2014 MC Photography have bid farewell to long serving assistant Collette Evans.

Collette has been with MC Photography for almost 9 years, from what started out as a small job whilst studying Photography at college, into a full time studio manager, becoming a valued member of the MC Photography team who will be missed.

Collette, who runs her own wedding & fitness photography business Picture Perfect Photography recently had her own wedding on the top of the Rockofellar Centre in New York!

Our apprentice Max, will be taking over Collettes roll within the company.

Max joined the company in March 2014as part of Graphic Design apprenticeship scheme provided by Voca Voca and has being learning the ins and outs of the company ever since.

Max has been progressing extremely well both in and out of work, achieving Distinctions in each of the units he has covered over 6 months and developing very well at MC Photography in all areas.

Managing Director Mark Crapper is very excited about what the future holds. “Collette will be greatly missed at MC Photography, however Max is doing outstandingly well with his coursework and is thriving under the pressure at work, since Collette departed. I’m looking forward to seeing how Max continues to progress with his coursework as he’s just got over the half way mark. The future here is looking very bright indeed!’

We wish Collette the very best of luck with her own business and every happiness in her new marriage!

Interior Architecture

I was Introduced to  Formm at the beginning of this year and was task to shoot some head shots for a new web site.Whilst talking to the directors as I shot their portraits they inquired if I would be interested in shooting the projects as and when they were completed.
The time frame is very short between completion and handover so flexibility and communication is key with all parties concerned and Formm have been able to facilitate easy access and help from  Formm's clients.

E-Commerce Photography

Product knowledge is paramount as a commercial photographer, you need to make sure the angles you choose show off the key design points to show how the products works and may differ from other similar products on the market. You can also add associated products to help the up sell of the clients range. This can be on a white back ground or in a small  set or on location.

Working between lockdowns

I had been approach just before lockdown  No.1 by a long time customer Shackerley, a specialist in ceramic,granite, engineered and quarried stone,terracotta and brick cladding.Servicing many sectors all around the world such as education, hotels, healthcare, retail , residential and many other. The project were located. in Manchester, Leicester and Leeds. Shot with shift lens and large step ladders

Progressive Safety...

Progressive Safety Footwear & Clothing Ltd was founded in 1961, and now is one of the UK’s leading distributors of safety footwear, protective workwear, personal protective equipment and workplace safety products. We were recently approached to shoot one of the great brands they stock JCB. Progressive Safety Footwear being the UKs authorised manufactures and dealers of the JCB work wear brand.

Royal Visit....

As a member of UKFT, a UK trade associations and organisation in fashion and textiles, Goral & Sons where asked to host a visit from UKFT’s president  HRH The Princess Royal. A great honour for the Sheffield based shoes manufacturer. Here at MC Photography we have been providing our commercial photographic services to Goral & Son for a number of years shooting the manufacturing processes and the finished products for their website and advertising. We where asked to cover the visit as The Princess Royal was invited to take a tour of the factory.

Last of the Summer time...

For the past few years here at MC Photography, we've been working extremely hard on a technique that allows us to shoot some beautiful exteriors of some equally beautiful buildings.

Using a combination of lighting, complex retouching and "the golden hour" we have produced some work we are extremely proud of in the past few years. The technique we use to create these images transforms cold, dull shots, into warm, vibrant images that are worthy of the technical and hard work that goes into creating these amazing spaces.

Studio on wheels?!

Should you be struggling to get whatever your product may be, to our Sheffield studio, then maybe we can bring our studio to you! 

We have a vast amount of equipment ranging from lighting, soft boxes, power pack and light shapers that we can bring to you and shoot!

From our Imacon to Hasselblad cameras, we can bring out laptop out, shoot direct to our 17 inch Macbook Pro so you can see exactly is what were shooting! 

If you're product is needing a background we also have a large variety of backgrounds, varying in colour that we can also bring out to you.

In this particular blog we'll be looking at our client Quicktrak Ltd. 

Quicktrack are a company that manufacture apparatus to wheel align anything from cars to large lorries, meaning a lot of their product is rather large. 

Below is a behind-the-scenes shot showing the capacity of our studio to get this large product on a background and lit!
