In March 2012 we were asked by a design agency based in Doncaster, Slater Clark Associates to start work on an advertising photographic project for Whirlpool UK, located in Croydon, Greater London.

We were commissioned to photograph a wide range of Whirlpool and Maytag products for Whirlpool UK’s online product brochure.
We have been working on location for a period of 5 weeks since March and traveling down in the car to London with all our kit from our Sheffield photography studio. Our photography work with both Slater Clark and Whirlpool is ongoing, we are soon due to start phase 4 in September of this year. Whirlpool manufacture a large range and variety of home appliances & white goods and it was our job to use our best photography skills and also our extensive experience of commercial and product photography to show each and every feature and detail and make each product look the best it possibly could.

MC Photography always use best photography practice while working with clients anywhere in the UK, we always aim to remain professional at all times, originating from Yorkshire, you are always sure of a warm welcome too! We are able to provide professional photography both in our photography studio, Sheffield or on location in the UK and abroad.
We were working on location in Whirlpool UK’s showroom, which we made into our own photography studio by using professional photographer’s lighting and equipment. Whilst we were working in Croydon, UK, we shot a wide variety of professional photograph’s over many different products for Whirlpool, Maytag and Cooke & Lewis, the scheduled product photography included Washing Machines, Hobs, Ovens, Hoods, Tumble Dryers, Dishwashers, Microwaves and Refrigeration. Each shot takes time to set up, especially when we are bringing out some of the very fine details & features on each of the products, such as the dials and functions.

We propped the dishwashers, microwaves and fridges accordingly, with crockery and food to really give the viewing audience an idea of what it would actually look like in person.
As a professional & commercial photographers, we try to always make the product look at its best and also give it a luxury feel, a consumer must want to desire the product, when this happen’s, we know that we have done the photography to a professional standard.
The itinerary that Slater Clark gave us required us to stay on location overnight, where we stayed in The Hilton Hotel, as our studio is based in Sheffield. The photography and shots required, meant that we had to travel down for up to 4 nights at a time so we could cover the wide variety of product photography that Whirlpool required for their company website and also their partner’s, Maytag and B&Q’s Cooke & Lewis range.
This surprised us, but did you know that the UK are currently the biggest buyer of appliances via the internet in Europe?

The time frame is very short between completion and handover so flexibility and communication is key with all parties concerned and Formm have been able to facilitate easy access and help from Formm's clients.

Using a combination of lighting, complex retouching and "the golden hour" we have produced some work we are extremely proud of in the past few years. The technique we use to create these images transforms cold, dull shots, into warm, vibrant images that are worthy of the technical and hard work that goes into creating these amazing spaces.
Take a look at some before and after shots!
